Getting around Las Vegas from Crown Motel, a three-star motel means choosing transport by destination: the Deuce connects downtown with the Strip, while the Monorail serves Strip stations and the Downtown Loop covers downtown stops.

From the motel, Las Vegas city centre is about 50 minutes on foot or 6 minutes by car, and Fremont Street Experience is about 40 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by car.

  • Downtown: The free Downtown Loop connects a range of central destinations.
  • Downtown and the Strip: The Deuce runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Strip stations: The Monorail has seven stations, from MGM Grand to SAHARA Las Vegas.
  • To Fremont Street from the Strip: The Monorail operator describes changing to the Deuce at SAHARA Las Vegas.
Start with the distance and destination

Start with the distance and destination

Your destination is the simplest way to choose how to get around Las Vegas. For downtown stops, look at the Downtown Loop or the Deuce; for the Monorail’s Strip corridor, check which of its stations best matches your destination.

For a day focused on downtown, the Fremont Street Experience is one of the Deuce’s stops, and the Downtown Loop also serves it.

If your plans centre on Strip stops, compare the Las Vegas Strip from downtown with the Monorail’s station locations before setting out.

The Deuce links downtown Las Vegas and the Strip, with service every day and night. RTC says it normally runs about every 15 minutes along the Strip and in downtown Las Vegas.

Stops include Fremont Street Experience, Bonneville Transit Center, The STRAT, SAHARA Las Vegas, Resorts World, Fashion Show Mall, Harrah’s, Caesars Palace, Bellagio/Cosmopolitan, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay and South Strip Transit Terminal. That spread makes the Deuce a practical route to consider when your plans cross between downtown and multiple Strip stops.

Visitor fares are $4 for one ride, $6 for a 2-hour pass, $8 for a 24-hour pass and $20 for a 3-day pass. Children 5 years old and younger ride RTC buses free when accompanied by a responsible person. South Strip Transit Terminal is at 6675 Gilespie Street.

The city’s free Downtown Loop serves Bonneville Transit Center, the Arts District, Pawn Plaza, Fremont East, Mob Museum, Fremont Street Experience, Las Vegas North Premium Outlets, Symphony Park, The STRAT, Circa and Las Vegas Civic Center.

It runs continuously during its operating hours: Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

You can connect between the Downtown Loop and the Deuce at Mob Museum, Bonneville Transit Center and The STRAT. Check the official site before you go: use RTC’s schedules and map information for bus routes and stops, and the city’s information for Downtown Loop service.

The Strip Monorail and tram connections

The Strip Monorail and tram connections

The Las Vegas Monorail runs along the Strip corridor between MGM Grand and SAHARA Las Vegas, stopping at five stations between them. Its seven stations are MGM Grand, Horseshoe/Paris, Flamingo/Caesars Palace, Harrah’s/The LINQ, Boingo at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Westgate and SAHARA Las Vegas.

Station-to-station travel takes about 1 to 4 minutes from train departure, depending on the stations. All Monorail stations have accessible elevator service. The Monorail does not go to downtown Las Vegas, so it does not replace the Deuce for a downtown destination.

Monorail service begins at 7 a.m. daily. It runs until midnight on Mondays, 2 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 3 a.m. Friday through Sunday.

Online fares are $5.75 for one ride, $13.95 for a 24-hour pass, $24.45 for a 2-day pass, $30.85 for a 3-day pass, $38.10 for a 4-day pass, $45.85 for a 5-day pass and $59.95 for a 7-day pass.

For Fremont Street Experience from the Monorail corridor, the operator describes transferring at SAHARA Las Vegas to the Deuce. If your itinerary includes both Strip and downtown stops, compare that connection with taking the Deuce for the full journey.

Taxis, rideshare and driving

Taxis, rideshare and driving

A car or taxi gives you a direct option for destinations beyond the listed transit connections. If you are planning an arrival, the route from Harry Reid airport to Crown Motel is a separate trip to consider.

Walking and heat-aware planning

Walking is possible for some journeys, but the travel times from the motel show that it takes longer than driving to the destinations noted above.

Before choosing to walk, check the route and the conditions for your outing. The route times alone do not account for the needs of a particular day or itinerary.
